Our Goals

Through collaboration, we hope to achieve the following:



1. Advocate for you

-open consultation with students when planning campaigns
-improve the situation for students who attend post-secondary institutions
-protect students' rights and promote supports to students in needs (academic appeals, emergency student loans)
-bring issues to the table in a collaborative, working manner


2. Foster a shared sense of campus and community life, organize great events & support student groups

-host inclusive and diverse events to unite students as allies
-enhance student space on campus (Bulman Students' Centre), to give students a sense of ownership over the university they attend
-provide student groups with support (financial and professional development)
-provide students with travel grants and funding for conferences
-foster student leadership and student stewardship


3. Provide services that students can value

-promote and continually assess the resources currently provided by the UWSA
-help coordinate bulk-buy of merchandise for student groups on campus to alleviate costs and to foster collaboration
-promote food-bank services for students in need


4. Visibility, approachability, and accountability of UWSA to students

-improve lines of communication to best inform students of the UWSA and its resources
-hold elected UWSA directors responsible for relaying information to the constituencies they represent

-have open budget consultations with students
